Useful information to prepare your visit
Access
- Parking spaces are reserved for people with disabilities in the P1 (near the Château) and P2 (near the Great Stables) visitors’ car parks
- You can also be dropped off directly near the entrances to the Château and the Great Stables (drop-off points)
- Parking is free on presentation of an official document
VISITING THE CHÂTEAU
Visitors with disabilities:
The Château de Chantilly is listed as a Historic Monument, which means conducting works to improve accessibility is stringently regulated. Because of this, accessibility is very limited or impossible in some parts of the château.
- The Reading Room and the Large Suites are accessible for people with disabilities. Access via the Cour d’Honneur.
The works exhibited in the central showcases in the Reading Room are difficult to see for wheelchair users. - The shop and the Graphic Arts Gallery are accessible for people with disabilities. Access via the Capitainerie courtyard.
- Toilets for people with disabilities are available in the château (to access them ask our on-site teams).
Visually impaired visitors:
- Visually impaired visitors are allowed access the château accompanied by their guide dog.
VISITING THE GROUNDS
Visitors with disabilities:
- The grounds are extensive and pathways are irregular. Access is therefore very difficult for people with disabilities.
- Adapted golf carts can be rented to visit the grounds. For more information:

- Visually impaired visitors are allowed access the gardens accompanied by their guide dog.
VISITING THE GREAT STABLES
Visitors with disabilities:
- The Great Stables is a single-storey building. The visit is difficult for people with disabilities because the paved floor is uneven.
- The Museum of the Horse is accessible for people with disabilities.
- Toilets are available and equipped with luminous alarms and automatic self-triggering taps.
Visually impaired visitors:
- Visually impaired visitors are allowed access the Great Stables and the Museum of the Horse accompanied by their guide dog.
EQUESTRIAN SHOWS AND DEMONSTRATIONS
- The dome of the Great Stables, beneath which equestrian shows take place, has seating with 12 seats reserved for people with disabilities.
